How to Play

  1. Pick a mode. Boss Scuffle and 1v1 Scuffle each start by asking whether you're playing locally, sharing one camera, or online, each on your own device. Local Boss Scuffle asks how many people are playing (one, or two side by side in one camera) and how hard to go, then sends a random fairy-tale monster. Easy sticks to standing moves, Normal adds push-ups, and Hard adds straight-arm planks and a faster pace. 1v1 Duel pits you against a friend.
  2. Move to attack. Every rep deals damage: clean full-depth reps deal 2, half reps 1, sloppy form 0.5. Push-ups deal 1.5× and punches a quarter as much, since they come fast. A held straight-arm plank deals damage every 1.2 seconds.
  3. Set up your camera. Put it on the floor, leaning against something and tilted up at you, then step back until you're in frame from your head down to your knees; your feet can be cut off. A match won't start until it can see everyone that far. Face the camera for squats, jumping jacks, and punches; push-ups and planks work facing it or sideways.
  4. Follow the boss's calls. Every so often the boss calls a new move for each player at random: squats, punches, jumping jacks, push-ups, or straight-arm planks. The monster shouts each call at you by name, and teammates can be on different moves. The new move counts from your very next rep.
  5. Strike a pose. Now and then the monster freezes one player and calls a pose: T-Pose, Flex, Hands on Head, or 6-7 (palms up, bounce your hands up and down in turn). Hold it for a moment; apart from the 6-7, it counts even if the camera can't see your head or hands, as long as it sees your shoulders and elbows. You can't deal damage until you do, so be quick; the clock and the boss keep going.
  6. Survive the attacks. Every so often the boss attacks and the team loses a heart. You have five hearts per fight; harder bosses attack more often. Win with all five for an S rank.
  7. Sync in co-op. Finish within 700ms of your teammate for +3 SYNC damage (less for punches) and a combo multiplier. Every five syncs triggers FRENZY: double damage for five seconds.
  8. Party up online. Online Boss Scuffle lets up to six people on their own devices fight a boss together. Host a private party and share its code, or a public party that anyone can find under Browse Public Parties. Everyone's camera appears in a grid. Online play has voice chat: Mute in the header silences your mic, and each other player's camera has its own Mute and volume slider. Boss health grows with every player, a bit faster than the team does.
  9. Win the 1v1. Pick a difficulty and the game calls random moves for both players at once, so you always race on the same exercise. Clean-rep streaks multiply your points. Pull the rope 25 points your way for a knockout, or lead when the 45 seconds run out. Find Online Match pairs you with a stranger on their own device, always on Hard.
